It is potentially an excellent site for Lepidoptera including the endangered high brown fritillary and several other species of fritillary.

There has been evidence or sightings of the following: Roe deer, fox, rabbits, grey squirrels, wood mice, moles and pheasant.

Woodcock, jay, nuthatch, green and greater spotted woodpecker, willow warbler, chiffchaff, blackcap, whitethroat and many other breeding birds.
