It is intended to graze the site with Exmoor ponies, which are now considered by many conservation professionals as excellent conservation graziers. Exmoor ponies are used as conservation grazers on more than two dozen sites throughout the UK.

The Gait Barrows Exmoor pony herd will be utilised for the grazing of Myers Allotment, and they have already proved themselves to be successful in the conservation management of Gait Barrows, Jack Scout, Eaves Wood, Crag Bank and other nationally important conservation sites in the area.
