Daisy

Daisy, common name for a number of flowering herbs of the family Asteraceae (or Compositae). They include the native British species known simply as the daisy but sometimes distinguished as the English daisy, a flower with a yellow disc and small white or pink rays, and the western daisy of the United States, which has violet or purple rays. Various other species are called daisies, including the African daisy. The black-eyed Susan is a common US wild flower with a dark brown disc and yellow rays.
