Agrimony

Agrimony

Eupatorium, genus of about 38 flowering plants native to eastern North America and Eurasia. The plants, commonly called boneset or thoroughwort, are usually perennials with erect stems, opposite leaves, and white, bluish, or purple flowering heads. In the United States, bonesets flower in the late summer or autumn and often form conspicuous parts of the autumn flora. A few species are garden plants, such as the hemp agrimony, which has also been used in medicine. Others are dangerous weeds—for example, the poisonous American species known as white snakeroot.
